McCormick Psychotherapy & EMDR provides telehealth psychotherapy services to clients physically located in Georgia, in accordance with the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage & Family Therapists.

As required by Georgia law (O.C.G.A. § 33-24-56.4) and Board Rule 135-11, telehealth services:

  • Must ensure client confidentiality and data security

  • Are subject to the same professional and ethical standards as in-person services

  • Require that both client and provider be physically located in Georgia at the time of session

We may collect:

  • Personal Information: Name, email, phone number, and any information you choose to share when contacting us.

  • Technical Information: Your IP address, browser type, and usage data collected through cookies or analytics tools to improve the website experience.

If you become a therapy client, any personal health information (PHI) shared with us is protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Georgia state confidentiality laws.

We use SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, for video sessions, messaging, scheduling, billing, and documentation.

You’ll receive a separate Notice of Privacy Practices outlining your rights under HIPAA when you begin services.

6. Third-Party Tools

We may use third-party tools like:

  • SimplePractice: For secure video sessions, forms, and communication

  • RemotEMDR: For secure video sessions

  • Google Analytics: For understanding website traffic (non-identifiable data only)

  • Google Workspace/Voice: For phone and email communication, which is HIPAA-compliant under our Business Associate Agreement (BAA)

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the data we collect about you

  • Ask that we correct or delete your information

  • Withdraw consent to communicate with you electronically
